Choosing the right size collar
All our collars and leads at Barker and Ball are sized individually according to length and width. If you have a small dog the lead generally needs to be longer (your hand is further away from your dog's collar) and a short, wide lead is more appropriate for a large dog.
Each collar is given as a size range from the smallest to the largest possible adjustments.
To determine the correct collar size for your dog, measure around your dog's neck. You should be able to fit two fingers, flat, between the tape-measure and the neck. Remember that you are after a comfortable fit, not so loose that it may catch or so that it'll be restrictive.
If you are in any doubt, Barker and Ball recommend that you give us a call and let us help you select the correct collar and lead for your dog.
Gifts for other dogs
Buying gifts for other people's dogs can be difficult. If you are worried about sizing, give us a call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us help. If possible, find out the breed whether the dog is particularly small or large for that breed.
The right fit for clothing
At Barker and Ball all dog garments are sized individually. In order to select the correct size, please look at our sizing diagram and measure the following:
Chest: Measure across your dog's chest, about 1/2in (2.5cm) directly above the front legs. This is the widest part of the chest. This is normally the most important measurement for dog clothing.
Back: Make sure that your dog is standing and then measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
